On September 23, 2024, Dr. Gary Cheng represented City University of Hong Kong at the National Day Gala held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong SAR, John Lee Ka-chiu, and the Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, Mr Liu Guangyuan, attended and delivered speeches.

Dr. Cheng is a strong advocate for innovation and technology in Hong Kong. He currently serves as an Academy Advisor at CityU Academy of Innovation and was the inaugural entrepreneurship mentor for CityU’s HK Tech 300 program, providing guidance to startup teams and assisting students in navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship.
