鄭發丁博士於經濟日報的訪問報導 (9/3/2017)

鄭發丁博士接受經濟日報的訪問，回顧自己的創業歷程、並分享城大修讀工商管理博士課程及當選城賢匯主席的點滴，訪問於2017年3月9日在經濟日報A31頁刊登。     報導內容: 孜孜不倦求上進 不遺餘力樂助人 鄭發丁博士   – 香港城市大學工商管理博士 – 香港城市大學資深校友組織「城賢匯」主席 – 加多利集團董事總經理   鄭發丁畢業於香港城市大學(城大)工商管理博士課程，他擁有香港及美國資深執業會計師資格，同時為香港稅務學會註冊稅務師。鄭發丁於1998年創立加多利會計師事務所，現為董事總經理。他現任監警會觀察員，近月更出任政府社會福利諮詢委員會委員，以專業人士身分為社福界提供意見，足證城大畢業生在社會上的影響力。鄭發丁亦剛當選為城大資深校友組織「城賢匯」 的新一屆主席，致力發揮校友精神，回饋社會及母校。   勇闖創業路　求學不停步 鄭發丁於美國完成會計學學士及工商管理碩士課程，九四年回港後加入一間享負盛名的會計師事務所工作。事業之路發展得一帆風順，姐夫的一個建議，更進一步引領他展開不平凡的創業旅程。他說：「姐夫告訴我菲律賓有款產品的代理合約即將屆滿，鼓勵我撰寫計劃書予相關的公司申請代理權。」結果他不但成功爭取到代理權，更隨即到菲律賓成立公司，走上創業路。由於代理工作偶有閒暇，他決定與舊同事合資成立會計師事務所。他憶述：「事務所開業初時一個客戶都沒有，從零開始，卻要應付繁多的開支，內心真的感到徬徨。」憑著「做人正直、積極向上」的宗旨，加上努力及拼勁，鄭發丁的會計師事務所目前已達六十名員工，為三千多名客戶提供服務。   鄭發丁深明創業「不進則退」的道理，故早已因應市場需要發展多元化業務開拓客源。他說：「當時香港的會計事務所為數不少，競爭激烈，以低價格定位未必是好的策略。我看準了於1997年後香港不少公司受金融風暴影響而對清盤、破產有所需求，成為第一批修讀清盤官課程的香港會計師。除此之外，我們更提供稅務調查服務，打破既有會計服務的框框。」鄭發丁積極與時並進，亦因此選擇到城大修讀工商管理博士課程。他道出心聲：「這個課程的收生要求相當高，學生必須擁有最少十年的管理經驗，班中同學們都是社會中的傑出人士。大家在學習及撰寫論文的過程中互相交流及鼓勵，並與教授在討論的過程中找到方向，遂步地完成論文。我在城大不單得到了一個博士學位，更大的收獲就是認識了不少的良師益友。」   當選城賢匯主席　致力回饋母校 全因對城大的一份感激之情，鄭發丁加入於2010年創立的資深校友組織「城賢匯」，與志同道合的城大校友運用專業知識及人脈網絡，回饋母校及服務社會。今年他更獲選為新一屆城賢匯主席，他雀躍地分享：「城賢匯的會員都是社會上的菁英，我十分希望這個組織可進一步發揮校友的力量。透過促進校友間的溝通，我們期盼集結力量推動母校發展及為社會注入正能量。」城賢匯會員除了成立獎學金頒發給城大學生外，亦提供就業協助予畢業生及舉行一系列的社會慈善活動，例如早前便邀請了一班來自低收入家庭的兒童及其家人出席聖誕聯歡會，歡度節日之餘亦同時分享愛與關懷。   http://www.cityu.edu.hk/aro/alumnistories/61.htm

Christmas Party of Gary Cheng Group

Christmas is approaching. Gary Cheng Group hosted a Christmas party on 16 December for all staff to enjoy this joyful festival.  Secret Santa session was held after the delicious Christmas meal. All staff enjoyed the party very much.    

Corporate visit by candidates of HKICPA Council Election

Dr Lawrence Wong, Mr. Roy Lo, Mr. Rex Yeung, candidates of HKICPA Council Election, visited Gary Cheng CPA Limited on 7 December 2016. They shared their vision and conducted a focus group with our young accountants in order to listen to their voices.   

CityU Foundation Annual Dinner

CityU Foundation Annual Dinner was held on 22 November The theme of this year is “Fly with CityU”.  Dr. Cheng showed his support to the future development of CityU and he was the Emerald Sponsor of the dinner. He attended the dinner with the staff from Gary Cheng CPA, company secretarial and securities companies.  

Dr. Cheng was appointed as the member of the Social Welfare Advisory Committee

The Chief Executive has appointed Dr. Gary Cheng as a member of the Social Welfare Advisory Committee for a period of two years with effect from 1 December 2016. This Committee advises the Government through the Secretary for Labour and Welfare on all social welfare policy matters and keeps social welfare services under continuous review.
